
1. Fire suit (coat and pants) and helmets are mandatory in all classes.
2. Kill switches are mandatory. Must kill ignition. Also switch in cab within easy reach of the driver.
3. All pulling vehicles must have a fire extinguisher within reach of the driver.
4. Automatics are to have S.F.I. approved cover (blanket or bolt-on). Clutch types are to have S.F.I. blow proof bellhousings. Must have saver plate (mid-plate) on S.F.I. bellhousing.
5. Drive shafts must have 360 degree loops around U-joints and be completely shielded. U-joint shields can also act as loops. No cables, chains, or PVC pipe as loops. (Super Stock must have minimum 2 loops on rear drive shaft).
6. Trucks and Hot Rods only - Harmonic balancer must be shielded 360 degrees and strapped to keep balancer from moving forward S.F.I. balancer (one piece). Must also have strap or shield in front to keep from coming out if breakage occurs.
7. When being hooked & unhooked drivers are required to have hands in air to signify vehicle is in neutral. Watch starting flagman until given signal to proceed.
8. Any part of pulling vehicle touching the out of bounds line will result in disqualification. Sled going out of bounds will not result in disqualification.
9. If pulling vehicle or driver does not have all safety equipment it is the Safety Official's discretion to allow you to hook one time. All safety rules must be met before driver and vehicle are allowed to hook again.
10. Excessive loss of liquid from pulling vehicle will be cause for termination of pull and vehicle disqualification.
11. Vehicle must be operated in a safe manner on and off the track, and if running, must be attended at all times.
12. Any vehicle operated in an unsafe manner, use of foul or abusive language, or the use of alcoholic beverages will be grounds for disqualification.
13. Any weight lost while hooked to the sled will result in disqualification.
14. Be ready to pull when class starts. If you cannot pull within 3 minutes you will be dropped to last position.
15. All rules will be strictly enforced. Anyone with a question on the legality of a vehicle should consult a class spokesman.
16. All contestants will have two chances to move the sled past 100 feet. In the event of a pull off, there will only be one attempt to complete a pull.
17. All pulls to start with a tight chain. No jerking allowed.
18. First puller in each class can accept first pull or drop and immediately re-pull, drop 5 places (to 6th), or drop to last. First puller may not have the option to repull if he runs out of bounds without trying to stop vehicle or if weights fall off (flagman's call).
19. No one allowed on the track except judges, track officials, and contestant.
20. All vehicles will be subject to inspection by safety officials or class spokesmen at any time.
21. A vehicle may not be entered in the same class twice.
22. No portion of vehicle may interfere with sled, chain, or hook.
23. Driver must be 18 years of age or have guardian and director's approval.
24. All pulling vehicles are subject to inspection at any time by safety officials or class spokesmen. When pulling vehicle is inspected no one else is allowed around the vehicle. Any drivers, other competitors, family, or friends involved in the infraction will result in a disqualification of that driver. Example is if Team red's vehicle is being inspected and Team blue's wife comes over and looks or interferes Team blue will be disqualified.
25. To be a class spokesmen the person must be a club member for the previous year.
26. To be eligible to vote on any rules or rule changes you must have been a club member for the previous and present year and must have participated in more than half of the hooks in that class during the previous year.
27. To be eligible to pull a driver must be a member of the Middle Tennessee Pullers Association. Half of membership money may be paid at the first pull and the rest at the second pull if puller desires.
28. If pulling vehicle is sold, points accumulated to that point will stay with that vehicle as long as the new owner pays his membership fee.
29. No oxygenated fuels allowed in any class.
30. Normal disqualifications results in 5 hook points and no money for the night. Track officials may impose a total disqualification at their discretion which will result in no points or money for the night. Reasons for total disqualification include, but are not limited to, unsportsmanlike conduct and use of alcohol.
31. Points are awarded to members only. 40 points will be awarded to 1st place and will decrease in two point increments for each position below 1st (2nd = 38, 3rd = 36, etc). If someone who is not a member pulls in a class the points will be awarded as if the non-member was never there. Example: non-member places 3rd in a class and a member places 4th. The 4th place puller who is a member will receive 3rd place points. If a class is unable to finish due to weather or other reasons then no one in the class will receive points.
32. Each class will have one points drop. Every puller will drop one points pull at the end of the year.
33. If vehicle is unable to pull but can bump the sled under its own power with the motor running it will receive last place points and money for the night. If vehicle is unable to bump the sled but the driver leaves his registration money they will receive 5 hook points for the night.
34. If a vehicle pulls in a class it is not a member of (jumping classes, i.e., Big Blocks pulling in the 6500 Limited Modified class) then the vehicle cannot be first (test) hook in the class it is not a member of.
35. Judge's decision is final.
