Big Clyde

Video of Big Clyde (then Heartbreaker 2) at the 1989 National Championships (click to play). More pictures below.

Previously owned by the Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (NWOTPA), Big Clyde was built in 1974 by an Ohio man named Chuck Ziss and was known as Heartbreaker 2. Built to replace their smaller sled, Heartbreaker 1, it was used by the NWOTPA until being retired in 1995. It was used for several years in the National Tractor Pulling Championships in Bowling Green, Ohio, and at the Farm Machinery Show tractor pulls in Louisville, KY.

After being purchased in 1999, former club member Danny Lusk was asked to handle the restoration of the sled to running condition. Upon completion it became known as "Big Clyde" and became the primary sled used at all of our pulls. Prior to the 2010 season the sled underwent another restoration that added several updates, including a hydraulic pan drop and a brand new look.
